A three-star hotel near Birmingham Airport and the NEC has exciting vacancies for the following position:

Hotel Manager (Visa sponsorship available to deserving candidates if required)

Duties

  • Performing the night audit on the hotel reservation system.
  • Communicating effectively with all departments, colleagues, and managers to ensure guest expectations are met.
  • Handling guest reservations and bookings according to standards.
  • Managing all external and internal calls, ensuring guest requests are fulfilled.
  • Handling guest complaints in a professional manner.
  • Attending health and safety and other required training sessions.
  • Ensuring effective nightly communication with Reception.
  • Maintaining service levels that consistently exceed guest expectations.
  • Understanding and assisting with check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Preparing breakfast according to Standard Operational Procedures and serving it on time.
  • Housekeeping duties, including keeping all rooms clean and comfortable.
  • Ensuring the hotel, its stocks, and its guests are secure, conducting security checks regularly throughout the night.
  • Performing night cleaning schedules as requested by the Night Manager to maintain high cleanliness standards for the next day.
  • Assisting with other duties as required, such as reception duties, serving at the bar for late-night residents, and supporting function teams in preparing rooms.
  • Conducting floor walks to ensure the safety and security of the hotel at night.
  • Adhering to all statutory regulations and upholding liquor license conditions.
  • Undertaking any reasonable requests from the company, including flexibility in hours, location, and responsibilities.
  • Accepting responsibility for the hotel as a Duty Manager when scheduled to do so.
  • Being willing to assist other hotel departments as needed and understanding the flexibility required during fluctuations in business levels to deliver the best service.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations and departmental requirements.

Visa Sponsorship

Please note that sponsorship will only be provided to candidates who are currently in the United Kingdom and have extensive previous experience in a similar position within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks in assigned areas of residential or commercial buildings.
  • Dust surfaces, sweep and mop floors, and vacuum carpets to ensure cleanliness.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning sinks, and disinfecting toilets.
  • Change bed linens, make beds, and ensure rooms are tidy and welcoming.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry as needed.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and towels to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor promptly for resolution.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly to prevent accidents or injuries.

Qualifications

  • Preferred previous experience as a housekeeper or in a similar role to ensure familiarity with cleaning tasks and expectations.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are advantageous, as they can enhance communication with guests or colleagues who speak different languages.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to guidelines.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure all cleaning duties are completed within specified timeframes.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift heavy objects if required in the course of cleaning duties.
